Another early start on site this morning – We braved the Zambian bus system and arrived to find the excavators already hard at work.
With the existing poles and areas of concrete now removed, it was time for the grader to begin levelling the site and removing the top layer of vegetation. Now begins the process of going over the surface by hand – removing stray detritus, roots and rocks, and creating a clear level surface to begin building up the court. A heavy dose of weedkiller tonight should reduce the risk of vegetation growing up through the gravel which is due to arrive on Monday.
The sun is intense but we have found a shady tree next to the site, avoiding the snake holes which we have discovered nearby!
